Mirai Sarutobi’s Background
Mirai was born shortly after the end of the Fourth Shinobi World War, in the depths of autumn. Her name was chosen by her father Asuma, who died before her birth, to represent his belief of protecting the future well-being of the children of the world.
Her mother Kurenai raised her as a single parent, with the help of her father’s former students, Shikamaru Nara, Ino Yamanaka, and Choji Akimichi. Mirai grew up admiring her father, and inherited his chakra blades and his affinity for wind and fire release. She also learned genjutsu from her mother, and became proficient in yin release.
Mirai was watched over regularly by Shikamaru, who promised her father to train her as a shinobi. Mirai became very close to Shikamaru, and often called him “Big Brother”.
She also developed a friendly relationship with Kiba Inuzuka and Tamaki, and enjoyed playing with their cats. Mirai graduated from the Academy at a young age, and became a genin under the tutelage of Moegi Kazamatsuri, along with Tatsumi and Kagura Karatachi. She was later promoted to chunin, and became a bodyguard for the Hokage.

She has a penchant for giving people nicknames, such as calling Akamaru and Kiba a mixture of both their names, or calling Kakashi Hatake “Lord Sixth”.
Mirai is also very mature and wise for her age, as she can sense the emotions and intentions of others, and offer them comfort and advice. She is very compassionate and empathetic, as she cares deeply for her friends and allies, and even shows kindness to her enemies.
