Toge Inumaki (狗いぬ巻まき棘とげ Inumaki Toge?) is a major supporting character in Jujutsu Kaisen and one of the main protagonists of its prequel, Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Jujutsu High.
He is a descendant of the Inumaki clan and its cursed speech, which he’s developed his own unique speech pattern for in order to avoid cursing others. Toge is currently a semi grade 1 jujutsu sorcerer and second year at Tokyo Jujutsu High alongside his classmates Yuta, Maki, and Panda.

Appearance Toge Inumaki
Toge is a slim young man with light skin, brown eyes, and mid length straight hair. He was born with the “Snake and Fangs” seal of the Inumaki clan on his tongue and both cheeks.
His Jujutsu High uniform was tailored with this in mind, fitted with a high collar with a zipper that covers his mouth. While training, Toge wears a zipped up dark collared shirt underneath a white short sleeve shirt with athletic pants and shoes. During the Shibuya Incident, Toge lost his left arm due to Sukuna’s attack.
In 2017, Toge had shorter, spiky hair similar to Yuji’s that eventually grew into his new hairstyle of 2018. He had a similar uniform, but he had a light-tan (light blue in the movie) turtleneck sweater that he wore underneath a normal student uniform.
In the anime adaptation, Toge has platinum blonde hair with purple colored eyes and his uniform is a tinted color of royal blue.
Toge Inumaki Personality
Toge initially appears to be a quiet and distant boy, and somewhat intimidating to Yuta Okkotsu when they first met. However, beneath his calm and somewhat aloof persona, Toge is actually a very insightful and caring individual. He doesn’t speak in order to prevent accidentally cursing someone with his enchanted words.
The only reason Toge seemed scary to Yuta was because he was protective of Maki and Panda against Rika. Once Toge learned that Yuta’s situation wasn’t so different from his own, he instantly began to open up.
Due to his lack of clear communication with someone unfamiliar with him, this was difficult for Toge to convey. Through his actions Toge proved to Yuta that he was a kind comrade who only wishes to look out for others.
While cursed by his own ability, Toge understands that he wields a great power. He’s very intelligent and able to stay calm in any situation, always knowing when and when not to use it. Additionally, Toge has proven himself to be very confident and brave.
At the Goodwill Event, after only just meeting Yuji, he wanted to go back and save him from being attacked by the Kyoto students. He never panicked a single time against the special grade curse, Hanami. Even after his own throat began giving out from the weight of his curse, Toge still stepped up to send one final spell Hanami’s way.
Abilities and Powers Toge Inumaki
Overall Skill Level: As a member of the Inumaki family, Toge is a respected semi-grade 1 sorcerer. Next to Aoi Todo, Toge is considered to be among the strongest and most respected jujutsu student outside of Yuta and Hakari.
His cursed technique and athletic ability have earned him a strong reputation among the students and even Geto believed he was a sorcerer blessed with great potential. Toge is highly intelligent with high stamina as well as an expert understanding of how to wield his powerful cursed technique.
High Mobility: While not quite as fast as freaks of nature like Yuji or Maki, Toge is a very athletic individual. He is quick on his feet and very nimble, able to evade Hanami’s attacks and lead him on a long chase through the battlefield until Toge could find his comrades.
Toge was also one of the only students in the baseball game who took a base clean after batting and remained a threat to steal. Even Yuji was surprised by Toge’s speed, which Maki also endorsed.
High Endurance: Toge’s cursed speech requires a high amount of stamina to use. It causes extreme throat irritation that can cause Toge to cough up blood if overused. Despite this, Toge continues fighting even after reaching his limit and can still unleash commands against higher level opponents.
